lyrics

Remains of Manentia

On the edge of the wilderness
he crouches, looking outward,
looking inward, weighing up the ruins
and the emptiness.
Waiting for the war drums,
waiting for the cries

at the end of all things

he sits in despair,
blink away the snow,
embracing the wind
waiting for etenity.

The eventual submersion
of thrones grown in conceit.
Their material minds
bound to the lake's bed,
drowned by time and chance,
the emptiness.
Waiting for the war drums,
waiting for the cries.

He observes the permanence
of the oaks and thorned vines,
that creep over crowns
and the skulls covered in earth,
churning over centuries,
unified in certainty
as they unknowingly descend.

At the end of all things,
watch the great ones decay.
At the end of all things,
he sits in despair.
